VAM comprises: a Volunteer Centre that recruits and places volunteers in Maidstone; a Council of Voluntary Service, that provides supportand development to voluntary and community organisations; a Carers Project providing information and support for people caring for a family member or friend; a Transport Scheme - a team of volunteer drivers using their own vehicles to assist people who cannot use public transport; a Brighter Futures for Older People Project - the aim of which is to keep older people in their own homes; Platform Project - promotes mental health service user involvement in decision making bodies and supports two groups of service users; the V Team - a team of volunteers who undertake gardening, decorating and DIY for older people and people with a disability on low incomes, free of charge.
