Carers Project

Maidstone & Malling Carers Project is a point of contact for anyone living in Maidstone, Malling and surrounding rural areas who looks after a relative, partner or friend. We provide information about local services, support systems and benefits. A free confidential listening ear is offered to carers - either face to face or over the telephone. Help is given to complete benefit claim forms and to make a complaint when things go wrong with services.
Support groups enable carers to meet and support each other.	The project also provides a regular telephone contact service.
A regular Maidstone Carers Forum enables carers to meet and speak directly to planners and managers of Health and Social Services.	A dedicated Mental Health Carer Support Worker offers a listening ear, information, support and respite breaks.
A newsletter is produced three times a year.	Carers are encouraged and enabled to get together and share interests and activities.
KENT CARERS EMERGENCY CARD provides peace of mind when they are away from the person they care for by enabling immediate accces to pre-arranged planned care in case of emergency. Download application form by clicking on card.
